Fish at the beaches of Koh Tao, Thailand
Although we (the adults) went snorkeling to see the marine life in Koh Tao, Buchela also got a chance to play with some of the sea's inhabitants.

We snorkeled in Koh Tao right off our beach.
We didn't have to go far at all.
It was quiet nice to be able to see marine life without having to go deep into the ocean.
We also got a chance to try out our new underwater camera.
We took way too many pictures.
I am generally not a beach person.
I hate being hot all the time.
Give me mountains and I am happy.
Before we looped back to Chiang Mai, we had two more small Northern cities to see.
Mae Hong Son was our first stop.
Our hotel had a beautiful garden.

Named after the river Pai, this little cute town is located in Northern Thailand, just a few hours drive away from Chiang Mai.
It was the perfect spot to take it easy and to sort of hang out.
Located in the Northern part of Thailand, Chiang Mai is cooler (weather wise) and much smaller than Bangkok.
For a small city, it has a ton going for it.
Buchela studying the city map.
We visited an elephant park right outside of Chiang Mai.
We had a great time.
I have convinced my husband to rent a car (with his mother's driver's license because he forgot his) and to drive on the wrong side of the street for a five day tour of northern Thailand.
Internet connection is spotty but we are having a great time.
Hubby got used to driving on the left side of the street after a few hair raising moments.
Thailand is beautiful.

After 21 hours of traveling, to the delight of the children, grandma arrived safely.
We thought our tummies had died and gone to food heaven!
Simply delicious.
Thanks for the tip!
... forget to pack your underwear.
Especially when visiting a new country.
You will be stuck freestylin' while you wait for the one you have to dry!
We decided to explore a bit more today and did quiet a bit of walking around.
One thing we learned very quickly is that we can not do a lot with two kids. With one, it was manageable but with two we have to really slow down our days.
This is fine as we are looking to rest and relax as much as we want to be active.
I am impressed by how friendly Thai people are especially when compared to China. I remember feeling the same way in Vietnam too. Maybe it is because I am a tourist but I feel there is a real difference here.
Good thing we aren't sex tourists!
At The Atlanta, we have rented ourselves a dumpy two bedroom place. We decided to stay here because other families we know have stayed here. We wanted a sure thing with a price tag we can afford.
