When my husband and I were dating, we had lengthy discussions about what our domestic arrangements would look like if we were to marry.
We agreed, outside of me taking a reasonable maternity leave (6 months), both of us will work. I wanted him to know from the get go what he was getting himself into.

We woke up this morning to find a cold wind rattling our windows and knocking over stuff on our balconies.
I find the arrival of winter in Dalian to always be swift.
I would rather not be grumpy about welcoming a new season.
I want to think of it as an opportunity to stage creative play with my kids. Because there will certainly be days we'll find ourselves trapped inside.

There is a university a 20 minute walk away from our apartment.
It is moon cake holiday weekend here in China.
We are back in China. We are, once again, getting over jet lag and adjusting.
Buchela and I will go back to work tomorrow.
Dinbit will be staying home with a new caretaker.
Lots of new stuff.
I will be updating soon!
Spring is finally here.
The weather in the past week has been beautiful.
There are flowers blooming everywhere.
(Clarifications added because of some emails)
My baby's hand was burned by scalding water on Friday evening.
We were at friends' house for dinner.
We were all in the living/dining room area.
She was roaming around as she does in her own home - fast, curious, and playful.
Just like last year, we had a pinata for Easter.
This year's looked more like an egg.
Our talented friend made it (pictured below holding the pinata tied to the end of a hockey stick) for the group (thank you Nat!)
About a year ago, with the help of this cutie...
We moved to this place!
When I went to a book shop the other day I was surprised to find a number of Obama books on the shelves.
It means they have already been translated into Chinese.
A friend of mine also pointed out to me that he is making Chinese headlines.
There are a lot of expectations on this man.
Here is wishing him much luck.
