Ahhh. The beauty of this simple conversation.
I never ever correct my children's speech. I love to follow their progress as they work it out.
More of this -- what is in this picture -- is what I wish for my son as he makes his way through the fifth year of his life.
Not only did American Easter sneak up on us this year but I had no idea the Ethiopian one was on the same day!
Apparently, once every five years, the dates for the two Easters falls on the same day.
Silly me, I was still counting on the Ethiopian one to being next weekend.
Ah well. I will still make doro wot :)
Outside of this one surprise, the holiday weekend was great.
This year we did our Easter egg hunt in a beautiful little private park.
The kids listened to clues and ran to find the candy stashes.
There are as many dogs as people on the neighborhood streets here in Ubud. I have been told they are harmless but you know...
As we sat around sipping wine after dinner at our friends' house, we overheard a conversation between Buchela and their 5 year old daughter.
For as long as I remember, books have been an integral part of my life.
This year, we wanted to get into the cookie making tradition in earnest.
Just like last year, we gathered our children and went to the French restaurant in town for a nice big breakfast and waited for Santa to show up.
I love it when my children's friends come over and do a project together.
It doesn't happen often enough but when it does, it is great for everyone.
Once a week - every Thursday - Buchela and his friends get together at a friend's home and I try to help them learn a thing or two.
