At the Rimba Reptile Park

The addmission we paid for the Bird Park covered the Rimba Reptile Park as well.

The day we visited the birds, we were too tried to add on the reptiles. We were at the bird park for over 5 hours!

So they allowed us to come back another day to visit Rimba.

The park had many snakes, crocodiles, frogs, and other dangerous species that had to be kept behind glass cages.

They also had a Komodo Dragon!

But the best part for the kids [and therefore for us too] was the part of the park where visitors got an up-close and personal time with some of the residents.

There were prehistoric looking animals strewn all over the place - accessible to touch - in many cases walking right alongside visitors.

This little baby crocodile was behind a knee high fence - and Buchela really really wanted to touch it.

But no worries, he got to touch plenty of other creatures.

They were just all over the place.

Dinbit on the other hand liked to experience her reptiles very much from a distance.

When one came to close, she promptly climbed onto one of her own handlers.

Still, there was the one time she tried to break into the turtle patch.

Our taxi guy Dewa picked us up and we were on our way home for lunch and way over due naps.

But our car broke down and gave us an opportunity to hang out with friendly roof makers.

After several attempts to push start the car - just after we escaped the heat into a nearby gallery thinking we were in it for many hours - the car started.

And home it was.

Temi's Gravatar I get goosebumps looking at these creatures let alone touching or holding them. I am proud of Buchela for being fearless!

Doc Bassett's Gravatar So great to see you and your family looking so well and having so much fun. Savor these moments for, sadly, they are brief.

Yemi's Gravatar Mesay - lol! I didn't even notice that :)

Temi - you will be surprised what you are willing to do when you have a child that just LOVES strange life forms.

Doc, so very true. I am really loving enjoying my kids and their childhood.

Lili - glad to know I am donning it right:)

Eryusg - both my kids like walking around half clothed. I have no problem with it. It can be very hot here - I wish I was allowed to strip to my underwear!
