First Day of School in Ethiopia
Both Buchela and I were excited about his first day of School here in Addis.
I was curious as to how he would do.
So, we packed his bag with snacks and headed off.
When we got to the school, I realized that I had thought the start time was earlier than it actually was.
To Buchela's huge disappointment, there were no kids at the school yet
As soon as one boy arrived, his worries were soothed and he was off to play.
It was hard to leave him for a whole half-a-day as I have never left him anywhere for that long before!
On his part, he didn't want me to leave.
He wanted to know why he couldn't go to school with me (like we do in China I suppose).
After I went home, I returned three times to the school to check on him.
But because he looked happy, I didn't bother him.
He had even managed to get himself a little girlfriend.
She seemed to enjoy fretting over him like a little mama.
Since his first day of school, which was last Monday (July 20th), he never complained about going to school.
That makes my nervous heart very happy.
