Ethiopia 2009: Buchela's School
I didn't want Buchela to be bored during his stay in Ethiopia.
Addis is not a particularly child friendly city.
It lacks basic amenities such as playgrounds.
So I decided it would be a good idea to put him in school for part of the time.
We looked at a few schools but in the end decided to put him in a little place around the corner from our home.
It is pretty bare bones when compared to what he is used to in China but both Dinbit and Buchela liked the play ground.
They have a four week, half-day, summer session that won't start until July 20th.
Their teachers seem gentle.
I thought for Addis, it is a great find!
He will go when he wants to.

The shots remind me of some parts of Vancouver believe it or not.
Paul looked pretty lonely without you all (or y'all if I were American) those last few days in Song Hai. I would have taken him
out for a beer or two but Alice's family was in town our last few days there.
Shots of the city, the neighbourhoods would be great so we can live vicariously through you.

Anyway, Mamitu, it is a different one - Rose Academy - this one is called. Owners are really sweet:)
Yekolo, I know... I had a fun childhood too... playing the same games you played. I wonder if kids still play them! I am looking for kids:) Just wanted to have the school option too should he need a place to play:)
Darren, hope the family is good. You must be in Canada now... I will try to update as much as possible. Lack of electricity and snail slow internet make it frustrating.
You know who, yes I am in Addis... eat your heart out!
Addis, yes, that is one of my articles... Fun to see my stuff picked up by various places. Working while in Ethiopia has been interesting to say the least. I definitely have had to plan around the power outages and cross my fingers the internet works!
the Tele-Bole Road last year. It must be close to the Enat Kelemwa's old site.
