The Night Before Christmas
I turned 36.
And we prepared for Santa's arrival at our home.
Buchela was in charge of putting a cookie and a cup of milk under the tree for the big guy.
Dinbit was in charge of resisting the urge to spill the milk and eat the cookie.
I helped write a note.
Buchela fretted over it before he delivered it under the tree.
Then he decided Santa needed a bib - so he put that under the tree.
He was very concerned about making Santa happy.
Then, while he was putting on his pijamas, it occurred to him Santa will need a stool to sit on!
So he added that.
Paced around for a while and went to sleep.
It is Christmas morning now.
The kiddos are still asleep.
Santa came and left beautiful presents and a note.
Gosh wow! Look!
Santa speaks Amharic.

Merry Christmas to you and your family....
Lots of Love B and Mali
P.S. In a separate note: Love Buchela's hair...

It is wonderful to have a Christmas tradition. But at the same time the world especially the west is forgetting the true meaning of christmas which is the birth of Jesus Christ.
The fond memories of my Childhood in Ethiopia about Christmas is not Santa but the Christmas Carols at church, memorizin and reciting bible verses, and watching the drama performed by other kids. Now I have been in the US for quite sometime and I despise the commercialized Christmas. Christ is replaced by some random santa........oh wow
Mescho! It has been a while! Still running?
Selam, that applies only if you are religious. Also Santa and Christ don't have to be mutually exclusive.
Amharic you make me laugh so hard any way Merry xmas and
Happy NewYear to all
