Christmas Tree and Directions
We have finally gotten in the holiday groove around here!
Dinbit thought putting up decorations on the tree was a one off activity.
She then moved on to collecting and playing with the balls.
Buchela couldn't wait to put the star up.
But in his enthusiasm he broke it instead.
So we moved on to our medley of paper (trash?), balls, an errant pad, origami birds, lights, drums pile.
Buchela was very much into decorating the tree.
And he kept on refering to the decorations as directions.
He would say stuff like: "Mama! Look at the Christmas directions I put up!"
We didn't correct him.
It wasn't long when I myself began referring to them as directions.
Somehow, the Christmas directions ended up on only on one side of the tree.
It didn't seem to occur to him that he could put them on a different part of the tree.
That too, we didn't fix.
In the meantime, Dinbit finding the whole thing too boring, decided a basin of water in the bathroom was more fun.
She took the opportunity to perfect her splash-the-water-everywhere techniques.
There was barely any water left in her basin by the time I returned to check on her!
I tried to put her in the holiday mood by donning a hat on her.
It didn't work.
All she wanted was more water in her basin.
Buchela finished direction-ing the tree.
Proud of his achievement, he announced to all of us "This is MY TREE!"
