Halloween in China: Part 2 - Trick or Treat
As Buchela put on his Ultra-man (Asian Super Hero) costume (the red and grey one)...
I put on the octopus one and goofed around until ...
Buchela claimed it back.
He ended up being an Ultra-man in the inside and an Octopus on the outside.
Good thing too because it was very very cold.
He needed all the layers we could ever put on him.
Dinbit was going to be a tiger but alas...
The costume was too small.
We had to stuff her little body into it.
She seemed rather un-enthused with the idea of walking around all scrunched up into a tiger.
So, poof.
We turned her into a ladybug.
And with large bags at hand, we were all ready to go!
The outside was freezing.
We still stopped for a group portrait where the adults went into the kind of photo snapping frenzy only parents could muster up.
And then...
We were ready to party!
Candy!
Daddy checking the Candy!
More Candy!
Those who didn't have kids but participated in organizing a special trick or treating fun for our kids didn't forget about us adults.
They handed out coffee and random alcohol shots.
Perfect for the cold weather!
[Yes, we DO have a nice community here in Dalian, China].
Buchela kept on asking...
"Where are we going next?"
"To another house," we'd answer.
"For what?" he'd ask.
"To get more candy!" we'd explain.
"But we have a lot of candy!" He'd exclaim --- with total wonder and complete awe that there could ever be that much candy in the world!
To say we were cold is a total understatement.
We had fun until ...
the most adorable little red bug sounded the alarm...
And we called it day.
Now we have ALL this candy in our mostly sugar-free house and a child who, for the first time in his life, doesn't believe the Halloween fairy took it all back!
Kids grow up too fast.
