Friends Reaching
Once again, I feel the love from Addis Ababa.
My Mahiber friends envelope me in a circle of friendship that extends all the way to China.
During their last meeting, they met over Genfo (a festive birth food) in celebration of my daughter's birth.
I was near tears when I saw the pictures.
From 9th grade until now --- 20 years and we are still going strong.
I love you guys.
Hopefully soon, I will come home and attend at least one meeting.
Addisye, thank you for making the Genfo!
Hope you will share Genfo with them soon. btw, my mouth got watery seeing the Genfo...looks yummy!
diff from what i know growing up in addis. How old ? when you went to usa?

I too am a believer friendship doesn't have to end even if ppl live thousands of miles apart.
True friends have a special place in the heart. You are lucky to have loyal, loving friends.
OH, I was born and raised in Ethiopia. In fact, I left after I graduated from high school.
Also, I moved back to Ethiopia after living in the US for many years. Buchela was born in Addis Ababa. We moved from Ethiopia to China not from the US to China.
I am so excited to see them . Just found this link by chanceI went to YBS too. Anyway it is nice to see you guys here.
