A Writing Mama
During my pregnancy bed rest, I took up a project. I had always wanted to know about the freelance writing market.
I figured, since I was stuck at home anyway, researching the field and making a go at it wasn't going to hurt.
As far as I was concerned, the whole thing was going to keep me mentally stimulated and busy during that difficult patch of the pregnancy.
Now, about two months after I embarked on the journey, I am happy to announce that I am regularly writing for an online investment magazine about international real estate.
It is not a full time job. I couldn't have handled it if it were. I barely make it work as it is right now.
It is just enough to keep my mind sharp over the next several months as I change endless poopy diapers while covered in spit up.
Once I get my brain back from maternal exhaustion, I also plan to continue submitting essays to other publications and to look into other similar online jobs. My goal is to make a small living from writing from anywhere in the world.
If I pull it off, this sort of a career will allow me to be at home with my children while, at the same time, I remain engaged in something other than baby babble.
I have set up an office in the upstairs part of our apartment and plan to use it more once Dinbit begins to eat solids and is no longer permanently attached to my chest.
I am also happy to see that my broccoli story was published in the Christian Science.

you knew in Charlotte..those good-lookin' ,adventurous,
debonair but yet very down to earth fellas...ahhh..those guys
were somethin' else.
You are very good writers; I whish you success.
i know how it feels to want to stay at home with your children. I recently applied for a new job that, if i get it, will allow me to be at home the majority of the time. although she wears me out, i love being home with my daughter. *fingers crossed*
