My Sister's Visit: With Buchela

She arrived on June 18th, in the middle of the night, bearing precious gifts.

Some of the Kolo (Ethiopian whole grain snack)busted out of its bag but we rescued it onto a plate.

She also brought some Kitfo (with kocho, gomen, and ayeb!!) some green coffee, some frankincense (itan).

We ate the kitfo right away even though it was 2 a.m in the morning.

I look forward to making coffee and burning some frankincense.

Even though I am not a coffee drinker, I miss the Ethiopian coffee ceremony!

Then the Buchela and my sister saw each other the next morning.

He gave her a hug right away.

I was surprised by how fast he warmed up to her even though he hasn't seen her for almost a year.

Buchela looks adorable as usual. I love that pic of his giving his aunt a hug. Yemi its obvious what a great job you did with him... he looks like a loving little person.
