The 11th Hour
Hubby: Do you know what song is in my head?
Me: No.
Hubby: "REM's 'It's the End of the World as We Know It'."
I laugh.
He hums it as he packs our hospital bags.
You don't just go with a little bag to the hospital here. We are making a mini move.
For one thing, stuff that is usually provided in hospitals in the US, bed pads, extra sheets, pillows that are not filled with beans, the patient has to bring.
I went shopping with my friend who helped me buy all these things.
I am so glad I have her because without her .... Well, it would have all been just impossible!
She is Chinese and has two kids so she knows her way around.
Today is our last day as a family of three.
Tomorrow, we will be four.
We look forward to meeting our little girl.
Buchela's Daddy is terrified about how things will go at the hospital.
I am calm.
I am ready to accept my fate.
The hospital stay is going to be an ordeal. We probably won't get a private room.
There is going to be fights because Chinese people (just like Ethiopian people) are against opening windows after a woman has given birth.
I spend my days and nights with open windows. I can not stand being cooped up. I can not sleep without some air.
So you know...
I plan to take it one minute at a time.
I tell you what though, it is gonna be real hard to suppress my inner bitch from coming out... I can only take so much.

So I wish you a very 'happy ending' birth. I'm looking forward of reading that you and your little one are alright.
A big kiss for buchela an love for you all...
(I hope my english is understable for you.... ;-)
Victoria, a mum waiting for her child, that is coming from your beloved Etiophia...!
