Loving

We are all back in Dalian loving being at home.

As I type this, Dinbit is asleep at my feet.

Buchela is slumbering, leaning his head on my chest.

And I am listening to one of my all time favorite African songs with my husband.

The song takes us to different places.

Him to Tanzania and me to Ethiopia.

I present to you the stunning Brenda Fassie.

I especially love the part when she tries to get Mandela to dance with her.

I love her energy.

enu's Gravatar brenda, RIP, was always a ball full of energy.
almost manic.
maybe that was the issue behind her drug addiction.
either way, such a touching video.

I'm so happy you all made it home safe. Thanks so much for posting this video. I just discovered Brenda Fassie on last.fm a few days ago. Before then, I had never listened to her music...she is amazing!

I've slowed down a lot on my blog reading, but when I go to my Google Reader I always check for new posts on your blog. Yours is hands down my favorite blog!

Yemi's Gravatar Thanks guys! Yes we made it home but now we have to get over the jetlag.

Brenda... too bad she died so young. The circumstances of her life was sad too. She was once found in a drug induced stupor beside her lover. She was gay. That also couldn't have been easy in South Africa!

Dara, while I have known of Brenda for a loong time, I just discovered last.fm recently! Ha.
