Buchela's First Amharic Word

Drum rolls please....

He said "indyee!"

I suppose because I am always saying it to him in lieu of actually using the word "no".

Hearing him say it was very funny; it made me laugh hard.

I was like "indyee Buchela" and he would say it again knowing it will make me laugh...

So we did it over and over and over and over.

.... until he stopped and gave me a face that said "ok that is enough mommy! not funny anymore!"

Marc's Gravatar Our daughter's first Amharic word is "baka." Now, when she's had enough of whatever we're doing, like brushing her teeth, she says very clearly "baka, Daddy, baka." She being two years old now, this is much preferable to the normal "no no no no" mantra.

Yemi's Gravatar Hey Marc! Yes, baka is a good one. Definately both are better than nononononono noooooooooo!

Tision, yeah, he imitates some sounds now and I really seriously over use "indyee".
