Vanished, Not
Unfortunately, I don't get Christmas off. Being a teacher means as long as your students are there, you also have to also be there. Otherwise, you have to get a substitute teacher AND make detailed plans for him/her regarding what your students should do in your absence.
Taking time off during regular school days is a pain, to say the least... lots more work than just showing up and teaching classes.
In addition, my case is a little complicated due to the timing of my absence. Both my classes will be putting on a play for an upcoming English Festival Day.
This means, I have to have casting and script done before I leave. I also have to write detailed instructions for the sub on how to help the students prepare. Exams are at the end of the month, so those have to be prepared too.
And to top it off, I am busy making a baby. My days for some reason start at 2 am. I go to the bathroom (damn pregnant bladders) and then can't go back to sleep. Buchela wants mama's attention as soon as I get home. By the time hubby gets home, I have completely run out of gas. Can't think, can't hold an intelligent conversation... I am just trying to keep my eyes open.
I hope the whole up at 2 am thing goes away soon.
Anyway, we arrive in Colorado on Thursday evening! Buchela's father will be doing some skiing. Apparently the snow is good this season. I am looking forward to sledding with Buchela and his cousin (just three months younger). Being around family will be nice.
Can I also just tell you y'all that I can not wait to eat! My hubby's mom cooking is really good. I think she will be making some of my favorites. But there are a many things I will be devouring. Let the pregnancy pounds come on!

I have been following for a while now and thought I would wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and (maybe wishful thinking here)
stress free travels.
brother know.
For Yemi, Buchela and Buchi's dad.
and safe journey back home ....
you are missed out here in ADDIS guys !
