Buchela's Inedible Habits

Sometimes I am astonished by what I find my son loves to eat.

A while back he had a lint habit. He used to pick them off sweaters, put them in his mouth, and pretend to chew on them. Thankfully, he stopped.

Then he picked up toilet paper.

Yes, toilet paper.

He still takes a big bite when I wipe his nose!

And no, we have not figured out how to stop it.

I am starting to suspect our horrified reaction has a lot to do with him continuing to perform this stunt because he laughs every time. We may have to put him through the 12 steps to get him to stop this strange addiction!

Just the other day, we discovered he loves something we never suspected he'd like.

Hubby and I were in a deep conversation about god knows what when we noticed Buchela has gone to the other side of the living room where he was out of sight and heartily smacking his lips loud enough for us to hear.

"He is eating something!" I yelled alarmed.

We rush and find him on top of our small dinning table where we thought we have placed our coffee maker out of his reach.

He had managed to open the coffee maker and he was gleefully eating the coffee grounds leftover from his father's morning cup of Joe. There was hardly anymore in the filter!

Since then the little maniac has been trying to get to the coffee maker.

DMB's Gravatar Well, let's just hope he doesn't move right on up to Vaseline--which was a favorite of my sister's. Of course she was six, but who's counting...

kay's Gravatar haha, that's funny. My brother had the same problem, he would put anything with in his reach in his mouth. once he took some bites of a soap. I think he was buchela's age.

Mamitu's Gravatar Little Buchila discovered the coffee eh!! Oh well it is much better than my daughter's favorite past time, washing her hands and sometimes face with the toilet water whenever she gets a chance.
Our solution, keep the bathroom doors locked at all times.

Tiffany's Gravatar First: ew!

Second: you can tolerate the smell of coffee? When I was pregnant it made me sooooo nauseous. On weekend mornings when Scott brewed it I had to lock myself in the bedroom and plug the bottom of the door to keep the odor out.

zgent's Gravatar LOL Yemi, was he also acting like any one of Kaldi's goats? I know a little girl who was fond of mud it did not take long before she scrapped a big chunk from the wall of their house. It was impossible to stop her from stripping them walls.

Yemi's Gravatar DMB, Vaseline eh? Oy!

Kay,lol about the soap. it seems to be normal for kids this age but a regular diet of toilet paper and coffee?! I donno...

Mamitu, yikes. That is so funny and scary at the same time!

Tiffany, I do not like anything... ANYTHING that smells. But I tolerate my husband making coffee in the house because he is a better man with caffeine in his body:)

Zgent:) Bouncing off the walls, I tell you!

Feven, I am so glad to hear that your daughter also eats the toilet paper! We also lock the bathroom!!
