Halloween in China
Some great organizers (not me) put together a trick or treat plan for Halloween in our neighborhood here in Dalian. The foreign parents, us included, dressed our kids and showed up at apartments of other foreigners most of whom don't have kids but were gracious enough to play the part. We all had a great time.
It is really nice to have people who go out of their way to make holidays that are not celebrated in China part of our children's lives. I hope I will be more active in planning the next event.
Anyway, here are some pictures from Buchela's first ever trick or treat.
1. Buchela trying out his costume.
2. Buchela very comfortable in his costume.
3. Hungrily eyeing a plateful of clams.
4. On the way to trick or treat... in the elevator.
5. Daddy, Buchela and the Devil.
6. All the Snow Whites looking on.
7. Group picture.
8. Candy!
9. More candy in Buchela's bag.
10. Not wanting to be left out, Buchela trying to put candy in his daddy's bag.
I must say our little dude had no idea what was going on. He didn't even know what was in his bag. He has never ever had candy. When we came home, he dumped the contents of his bag on the floor, played with the pieces for a while, and forgot about them. At no time did it occur to him that all that stuff was edible. But he sure had fun!

Happy Halloween!
