Poop in Three Languages

Buchela recognizes the words for stool in three languages.

Poop in English.

Choachola in Chinese.

Caca in Amharic.

If I say any of these words, he would touch his diaper and shakes his head yes or no.

He also uttered his first Chinese word a few weeks ago. Ayi means auntie. Kids here refer to their caretakers as Ayi. Buchela heard other kids say it so he began repeating it too.

This said, his vocabulary is still very very limited. He has been a man of a few words so far.

Lisa C's Gravatar Yemi, that's wonderful! Many of us go a lifetime only knowing how to speak one, which limits us in so many ways.

Kristina Brooke's Gravatar Thank you for the comment on my page. Your son was born around the same time as my daughter (April 27, 2006) and we are both in interracial relationships. I am also an English Teacher. So Kewl! LOL.

She Who Has Spoken is also a girl of few words. She says hot. Together they would be Hot CaCa. OK, enough of my corniness.

Cool Post!

Mummylicious's Gravatar My sister came to me the other day and asked me if I remembered the days when I was worried that my then 1 yr old hadn't been speaking much (around 2004). She then laughed uproariously at the thought...*sigh*. He was apparently biding his time :S
