Rain, Square, Mama and Son Jam
When it rains, it really just pours in Bali.
You either take shelter or you get soaking wet.

We have been hanging out with our Dalian friends in Ubud, Bali.
We woke up this morning, put on our swimsuits and headed out to the nearby pool.
But on the way there, we changed our minds.
It was too cool to go swimming.
We decided the pool can wait until for one of those sweltering days.
There are as many dogs as people on the neighborhood streets here in Ubud. I have been told they are harmless but you know...
After dinning once in a nice restaurant and feeling stressed, we have decided to go completely local.
If you are at all into bugs --- Bali is the place for you.
This year's travel takes us to Bali, Indonesia.
As we sat around sipping wine after dinner at our friends' house, we overheard a conversation between Buchela and their 5 year old daughter.

I was making injera in the kitchen when my cell phone rang.
Sometimes, the art projects the kids do is confined to paper.
For as long as I remember, books have been an integral part of my life.
I am not a cookie baking kinda of mama.
Baking is just not my thing.
The only thing I make out of flour with any regularity is injera. And this is because I know my survival depends on it --- I really CAN NOT live without Ethiopian food.
The other day, a good friend of mine came over to our home and organized a cookie making session.
My kiddos loved it.
