The drains can be disconnected afterward by reaching the nut placed under the sink drain and turning it with a pipe wrench. Then unscrew the entire pipe line connected to the main drain, this is located right under the center back of the cabinet floor. Prepare the bucket as the trap will be full of waste water you don't need to spill on the floor. Now you are done removing the old components and now the replacement begins.
It is always a good idea to install a dishwasher next to your sink. Not only are all of your pipes conveniently under your sink, adding the dishwasher next to the sink makes it easy to load. A dishwasher is not that difficult to install if you have the right tools.
About Plumbing - Plumbing refers to a system which is used to move fluids in order to address different kinds of needs. Plumbing deals with heating and cooling systems and removal of waste, and involves a variety of equipment including valves, pipes and tanks which are used to move and store liquids. It also involves installing and removing pipes and plumbing fixtures like ventilation and overflow pipes.
Kitchen plumbing isn't rocket science (even with the reference to Newton's laws of motion). While you may not fully grasp every nuance of it, taking the time to understand the basics will help you in the long-run. Ultimately, a proactive approach to your kitchen's plumbing will allow you to stay on top of things, but always remember that having the name of a trusted local plumber is a top weapon in your arsenal.
Screw each side of the drain with it correspondent drain pipe and tighten the screw firmly this time. Use the pipe wrench to connect the drain assembly to the drain hole on the cabinet floor. Then you are done, but you have to let the water into the system by turning on the water valve and check for leaks, and if they are found, tighten the nearest connection to the leak until it stops.
Turning Off the Water - When you run into an issue, and hopefully it's something small, you want to be sure you know how to turn the water off to your kitchen fixtures, namely the sink & dishwasher, but if you do have a water line to the fridge & it starts giving you problems, you want to know how the water turns off there, too. Even a little water where it shouldn't be can be problematic. As a general rule, you also want to be sure to know how to shut off the water to your house in case of a major problem.
